Rental Rewind is a game for the Brackeys game jam and when I saw the theme was Rewind the first thing that comes to my head is VHS tapes and when I think of tapes I think of movie rentals. I created a lite business sim with a first person view

You run the store by taking money from the customers and rewinding the returned tapes and putting them back on the shelf.

You can upgrade your VCR for faster rewind speeds and buy multiple VCR

You can buy more shelf space and buy more tapes for the shelves. And then work to unlock 2 more genres to make sure all customers find what they are looking for!

Unlocked all genres, was able to make a pretty good wage as the video guy.

One issue I ran into was that sometimes clicking on the tray that holds the ready VCRs wouldn't register and I'd have to angle my view further to the right for the VCR to be dropped onto the tray.

Personally my favorite aspect of the game was the terminal where you could manage your store assets and money. I just found the aesthetic of the whole thing to be interesting. The haunting guitar melody adds a certain something also.
